MOGADISHU, July 4 — Somalia on Saturday strongly condemned a deadly attack targeting a cafe in the Syrian capital Damascus, expressing solidarity with Syria after the blast killed civilians and wounded several others.
In a statement, Somalia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation described the explosion as a “terrorist act” against innocent civilians and denounced the attack in the strongest terms.
The Somali government extended its condolences to the Syrian government and people, particularly to the families of those killed, and wished those injured a swift recovery.
Mogadishu reaffirmed its firm commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms and reiterated its full support for the Syrian government and people during what it described as a difficult time.
Somalia also renewed its support for peace, security and stability in Syria, calling for stronger international cooperation to combat terrorism worldwide.
