RABAT, Morocco — The Kenya Coast Guard Service has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening maritime security across Africa through innovation, strategic partnerships and enhanced regional cooperation following the conclusion of the African Maritime Forces Summit (AMFS) 2026 in Rabat, Morocco.
Kenya Coast Guard Service Director General Bruno I. Shioso held a series of bilateral meetings with counterparts from Uganda, Djibouti, Somalia, Ethiopia, Mauritius and other partner countries during the summit, focusing on maritime security cooperation, capacity building, information sharing and coordinated responses to emerging threats.
The engagements aimed to deepen collaboration among African maritime forces and strengthen collective efforts to address challenges in the continent’s maritime domain.
The Kenya Coast Guard Service said it remains committed to working with regional and international partners to promote a safe, secure and sustainable maritime environment while supporting Kenya’s Blue Economy ambitions and broader African maritime security objectives.
The AMFS brings together maritime security stakeholders from across Africa to discuss cooperation, operational coordination and strategies to address evolving challenges at sea.
