MOGADISHU [SMN] – Reports from Kenya indicate that there has been an explosion targeting Kenyan troops in Lamu County near the Somali border.
The bomb struck a Kenyan military convoy shortly on Wednesday afternoon.
Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the bombing, says it killed at least 10 Kenyan soldiers, according to the statement.
There was no immediate word from Kenyan security officials about the blast.
Al-Shabaab militants often carry out attacks inside Kenya, especially near the Somali border.
