GURIEL [SMN] – Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a (ASWJ) forces have withdrawn from the town of Guriel in the Galgadud region in central Somalia in the early hours of this morning.

Credible sources told Shabelle Media that Ahlu Sunna has withdrawn from talks in the town, following efforts by businessmen and politicians.

Ahlu Sunna forces have now reached Godwil village, north of Guriel district.

For the past four days, there have been clashes between Galmudug forces in collaboration with government forces and Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a forces in Guri El.
