MOGADISHU, Somalia – The Deputy Minister of Information Abdirahman said SNA dealt a major blow to Al-Shabaab on the border between Galgadud and Middle Shabelle.
Minister Al-Adala said that Friday’s operation targeted Al-Shabaab militants who were gathering in areas to orchestrate an attack against army bases in the two regions.
In addition, he said that the army killed more than 100 members of the Al-Shabaab and destroyed vehicles driven by the fighters targeted in the army operation.
The Deputy Minister of Information also said that many al-Shabaab fighters were killed in operations in the past few days in the Bay and Juba regions.
He noted that the operations against al-Shabaab will continue until the government takes over the whole country. This comes ahead of a planned second phase offensive in Somalia.
