Consultative electoral meeting kicks off in Mogadishu

Somali PM Mohamed Hussein Roble and the leaders of the five regional states plus Mogadishu mayor are gathering in the capital to discuss the upcoming elections in the country.

Earlier, Roble’s office said it had apologized to HirShabelle administration President Ali Abdullahi Hussein Gudlawe for his concerns about attending the conference.

“Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble, who spoke by telephone with HirShabelle President Gudlawe, apologized for his concern about attending the Consultative Council meeting,” the statement from Roble’s office said.

Ali Gudlawe, who has been in Turkey for the past few days, attends the conference that opened today with the help of Zoom.
