MOGADISHU, Somalia – The government of Somalia has published a new report on the latest developments in the country, including the current war on Al-Shabaab militants.

 

1- President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud has presided over the meeting of the National Security Council which discussed the war against the Kharijites Al Shabab and security of the country.

2- The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, is participating in the 6th United Nations Environment Assembly in Nairobi.

3- President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has met the British Minister of State for Defense James Stephen Heappey in Mogadishu.

4- President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has received the diplomatic credentials from the new Kenyan ambassador to Somalia, Cyprian Kubai Iringo.

5- President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has signed the environmental protection and management law which was approved by the Federal Parliament of Somalia.

6- Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has launched Principals for Peace in Mogadishu.

7- The Federal Parliament of Somalia continues to debate Chapter 2 of the Draft Constitution of Somalia.

8- The Prime Minister of Somalia, Mr. Hamsa Abdi Barre, has chaired a crucial meeting to discuss the national plan to prevent the challenges caused by climate change in our country.

9- Prime Minister Hamsa Abdi Barre, held a farewell meeting with the Turkish Ambassador Ibrahim M. Yagli whose term of service has ended.

10- A demonstration in support of the historic agreement between Somalia and Turkey was held at the Eng Yariisoow stadium in Mogadishu.

11- The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Mr. Daud Aweis Jama has asked the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to support Somalia in its position against Ethiopia’s interference in the sovereignty and independence of Somalia.

12- The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Maallim Mohamud, and the Minister of Justice of Qatar, Mr. Ibrahim Bin Ali Almuhannadi, signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in legal matters between the two countries.

13- Minister of Transport and Aviation, Osman Igaal, has affirmed that Somalia’s air traffic management operations are functioning securely without any issues.

14- The President of the Hirshabelle State Mr. Ali Abdullahi Hussein (Ali Guudlawe) has participated in a meeting where the Disaster Management Agency presented a report on the effects of the rains and floods in Elnino areas of Hirshabelle.

15- The Minister of Education Mr. Farah Sheikh Abdulqadir participated in an event to commemorate the International Mother Tongue Day.

16- The Banadir Regional Court concluded the hearing of the accused Sayid Ali Maalim Daoud who was accused of burning his wife who later died from the injuries.

17- The Court of Appeal of Banadir Region has concluded an appeal case against several suspects who are officials of the Immigration Agency of Somalia.

18- The Somali Civil Aviation Authority has said that there is any safety risk in the Somali airspace.

19- In Mogadishu, the Data Protection Agency was launched, which is important for the storage of personal data of the public.

20- Somalia Police Chief General Sulub Ahmed Firin appointed Mr. Qasim Ahmed Roble as the new Spokesman of the Police Force.

21- The Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation of Somalia Mr. Mohamed Abdi Hayir Maareye has met Dr. Mamoon Al Alawi who is the Secretary of the Committee to Combat Locusts in FAO agency.

22- The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Macalin Mohamud, attended the 54th anniversary of the founding of the Somali Police Force in Mogadishu.

23- The Somali National Army and the people of Harardhere District have killed 10 members of Kharijites Al Shabab after a military operation in the area of Barag-Ali Gadud.

24- The Somali National Army and the international friends have killed 30 members of the Kharijites Al Shabaab, after an operation in the Jilib-Marka area of the Lower Shabeelle Region.

25- The Chairman of the Disaster Management Agency Mohamud Macallin Abdulle had a meeting with the Head of USAID Somalia Sheri-Nouane Duncan-Jones.

26- Units of the Somali National Army are participating in an international military exercise in Kenya.

27- The Director General of the Somali Immigration and Citizenship Agency, Mr. Ahmed Said Mohamed, held a meeting with British officials in London.

28- The Chairman of the Disaster Management Authority Mohamud Macalin and officials from the HirShabelle State have visited the Sabun Dam on the outskirts of Jowhar.
