Four killed in suspected clan revenge in central Somalia

DHUSAMAREB – Four people were killed in a village, located under Dhusamareb, the administrative capital of Galmudug State, on Monday night, authorities and residents said.

 

The killing in Fara-Goy, 20 km away from Dhusamareb was linked to the rising incidents of clan revenge, which have been on the increase in central Somalia in recent months.

The perpetrators have managed to escape from the crime scene following the shooting.

Tribal revenge killings have been on the rise in Galmudug state. The administration faces growing scrutiny for its inability to successfully combat this violence, particularly when it imperils innocent civilians.

Although Galmudug state security forces arrived at the murder scene and conducted a security operation, no arrests were made.

In November 2023, However, a gunman killed two business people, identified as Siad Tahliil Mohamed and Sheikh Hassan Diirshe, in Dhusamareb in an apparent revenge killing.
