NAIROBI, Kenya — The second joint summit of the East African Community (EAC) and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Heads of State convened virtually on March 24, 2025, to address the ongoing security situation in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
The meeting, conducted in a warm and cordial atmosphere, reviewed a report from the joint EAC-SADC Ministers on the region’s challenges.
Leaders deliberated on strategies to stabilize the volatile eastern DRC, where armed conflicts have persisted.
The summit underscored the commitment of both regional blocs to coordinate efforts to promote peace and security.
