Kenya to reopen border with Somalia

NAIROBI [SMN] – The Kenyan government has announced that it will soon reopen its long border with Somalia, which has been closed for months.

The governor of North Eastern Province has announced the reopening of the border, saying it will be preceded by the entry of Mandera into Kenya.

Kenya’s National Security Council has also drawn up a plan to open the Kenya-Somalia border.

However, Somalia and Kenya have been embroiled in a bitter feud in recent years that has strained diplomatic relations between the two countries.
