MOGADISHU [SMN] – An explosion was reported in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia on Saturday morning, according to multiple sources.
The blast, which was a landmine, reportedly took place near a Turkish mosque around the Fagah intersection in the Karaan district.
Witnesses told Shabelle Media Network that the commander of Karan district police station, Salad Arale, was driving in the road at the time of the blast.
It is not clear the number of casualties resulting from the blast. The situation was tense, and Somali security forces have arrived at the scene.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the bombing in Mogadishu.
