MOGADISHU [SMN] – The Presidency of Somalia declared that the agreement signed by the Minister of Petroleum and Minerals has not been consulted with President Farmajo.

In light of the Presidential Decree of 7 August 2021 which barred the ministers from reaching deals with foreign firms during the election time, the presidency said that the accord signed by the Minister of Petroleum is null and void.

Meanwhile, a statement from the PM’s Office said: “The agreement signed by the Minister of Petroleum of Somalia is illegal.”

The PM said will take legal action in response to this act that violates the National Assets and the legacy of the coming Generations to protect the integrity of the Somali Nation.
