MOGADISHU, Somalia ( SMN) – The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani sent a cable of congratulations to HE President of the Federal Republic of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on the anniversary of his country’s Independence Day.
The Amir congratulated the people of Somalia on the 62nd anniversary of the independence of the Southern regions of Somalia on July 1, 1960 and the unification of the North and South.
It also marks the 63rd anniversary of Somalia’s statehood.
Sheikh Tamim emphasized the deep-rooted and long-standing relationship between Somalia and Qatar, highlighting Doha’s continuous support for Somalia in various stages and circumstances.
Somalia and Qatar have a strong relationship and share deep history and they are both members of Arab League.
