JAMAME, Somalia [SMN] – A joint airstrike by the Somali forces and foreign partners thought to be Americans targeted a meeting of senior leaders of Al-Shabaab militant group.

A press release from the Government of Somalia said that the bombed site is about 14 km away from Jamame District in Lower Jubba Region, which is under Jubaland state control.

The command of the 43rd unit of the Somali National Army confirmed that the operation resulted in six casualties among Al-Shabaab officers who were present at the meeting.
