Somali PM engages in fruitful talks with UAE foreign minister in New York

The meeting, held at a crucial juncture in international diplomacy, underscored the significance of Somalia & UAE relations in the broader context of regional stability and development. H.E. PM Hamza Abdi Barre and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan reaffirmed their commitment to nurturing these ties.

 

During the talks, the leaders discussed a wide range of topics, including economic cooperation, security collaboration, and humanitarian assistance. They highlighted the potential for mutually beneficial initiatives that would promote socio-economic development and stability in Somalia and the wider region.

PM. Hamza Abdi Barre and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed their optimism about the future of bilateral relations. They stressed their shared goal of advancing economic growth, trade, and investment opportunities between the two nations.

Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan echoed this sentiment, stating, “The UAE considers Somalia a valued partner and friend. Our discussions today have further solidified our resolve to work together for the mutual benefit of our countries.”

The leaders also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common concern, including efforts to promote peace and stability in the Horn of Africa. They emphasized the importance of collaboration in addressing shared challenges and opportunities.
