MOGADISHU [SMN] – The Prime Minister of Somalia Mohamed Hussein Roble received in his office the UN Under-Secretary-General for Africa, Martha Ama Akyaa Pobee.
Robee was on a visit to the country amid elections following months of delay.
Roble and the UN official discussed issues including the country’s elections and in particular the 30% quota for women in the parliament.
The meeting also focused on strengthening cooperation between the Somali Government and various UN agencies working in Somalia.
The UN envoy for Somalia James Swan was in attendance at the talks on Sunday.
