MOGADISHU, Somalia  –  The siege at SYL hotel by Al-Shabaab has ended with three soldiers killed and 27 people wounded, police said.

During a press conference at the hotel, Qasim Ahmed told reporters that all attackers were shot and killed in operation.

Nine soldiers and 18 civilians have been wounded in the attack which began at around 10:00pm past night with suicide explosions.

It took over 12 hours the police to bring an end to the raid at SYL hotel located near Villa Somalia, the country’s heavily fortified state House.

The siege comes as government at war with Al-Shabaab in central regions, where Al-Shabaab is now regaining grounds early captured by SNA.
