MOGADISHU — Somalia’s Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation has held the second phase of its Generational Dialogue on Peacebuilding and Good Governance in Mogadishu, bringing together young people, women and other members of society to discuss state-building and governance.
The forum provides an opportunity for different generations to engage directly with government officials and share their views on peacebuilding, national reconciliation and good governance.
During the event, the ministry presented reports outlining its activities and the history of state-building in Somalia.
State Minister Saadaad Aliyow, Deputy Minister Abdihakim Ashkir and the ministry’s Director General, Abdulqadir Ilmi, shared their experiences in state-building and answered questions raised by participants.
The second phase aims to bring citizens closer to government institutions and improve public understanding of how government operates.
As part of the initiative, some participants will undergo a one-month training programme in different departments of the ministry to gain practical insight into government operations and public administration.
