MOGADISHU, Somalia – PM Hamza Abdi Barre has launched Somalia’s Modern Governance Strategic Direction Program in Mogadishu, with good governance and transformation of service delivery at the top of the agenda.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, PM Barre emphasized his government’s commitment to advancing an accountable and transparent governance system that would create a conducive environment for socio-economic and political stability through our six-pillar strategy.

“Our political environment will not stabilize unless the constitutional review process is completed, where the Somali people get the chance to elect their political representatives through the ballot box,” he added.

PM Barre noted that it is imperative to change the regressive mindset in order to foster political stability that would stimulate employment opportunities for the Somali youth through private sector growth and foreign direct investment.

The Premier further stressed the importance of finalizing the constitutional review process without further delay, in a bid to ensure an inclusive political roadmap that would pave the way for a peaceful and prosperous future in our country.
