Somalia Offers Condolences to Kenya After Devastating Rains and Floods Claim Lives

MOGADISHU, Somalia – The Government of the Federal Republic of Somalia extended its deepest sympathies and condolences to the government and the people of Kenya following the tragic loss of approximately 50 lives due to the devastating dam breach and heavy flooding near the capital, Nairobi.

 

In a statement released by the Somali government, they expressed their profound sadness over the natural disaster that has befallen their neighboring country. The statement reads, “We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life and the extensive damage caused by the dam breach and flooding in Kenya.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims and all those affected by this disaster.”

The Somali government has pledged its support and solidarity to Kenya during this difficult time, emphasizing the importance of regional cooperation in times of crisis. The statement continues, “We stand with Kenya during this challenging period and offer our full support and cooperation in the recovery and rebuilding efforts.”

The government also called for unity and resilience among the affected communities, urging them to remain strong in the face of adversity. “Our prayers are with the affected communities for strength and resilience in the wake of such loss and destruction. We have no doubt that the people of Kenya will overcome this tragedy and emerge stronger than ever,” the statement concludes.
