Somalia offers condolences to Türkiye over military plane crash

MOGADISHU, Somalia, Nov 13 — Somalia on Thursday extended its “deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies” to the government and people of Türkiye following the crash of a Turkish C-130 military transport aircraft near the Georgia–Azerbaijan border.

 

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said Mogadishu mourned the loss of “brave servicemen who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty” and stood in solidarity with Ankara during “this moment of sorrow.”

“Somalia reaffirms its unwavering support and brotherly ties with Türkiye,” the ministry said, expressing confidence that the Turkish nation would “emerge stronger from this tragedy.”

The cause of the crash has not yet been officially confirmed by Turkish authorities.
