MOGADISHU, Somalia – The Minister of Information Daud Aweys Jama shared a report on the latest operations by the SNA forces against Al-Shabaab in different parts of Somalia.
The Minister told reporters that the operations in areas of Galmudug, Hirshabelle, and Southwest States inflicted heavy losses to the Al-Shabaab, a lethal Al-Qaeda affiliate.
“On the border of Galgaduud and the Middle Shabelle, about 100 members of Al-Shabaab were killed, In the Goofgaduud Burey area of Bay region, another 60 fighters were also killed,” said Minister Daud..
He also pointed out to the Minister of Information of Somalia that the operations of the government forces have opened arms and military equipment, noting that the achievements of the forces are leading to the plan of the Somali forces to take over the security of the country by the end of 2024.
However, the Somali government forces, with the help of international friends, have recently increased operations against the Al-Shabaab group in the areas of Galmudug, Hirshabelle, and South West Somalia, as it is expected to start officially soon. the second phase of the war to eliminate Al-Shabaab.
