MOGADISHU, Somalia – The Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamsa Abdi Barre attended the conclusion of a conference on Promoting Somalia’s Local Production Sectors (BGS2023).
In his address, the PM noted that the government is committed to encouraging and revitalizing the infrastructure of agriculture, livestock, fishing, and energy in the country.
PM Barre emphasized that empowering Somali businessmen and ensuring markets for the products of our country will boost the country’s economy and development.
“The country’s economy can only develop through the market become freer and private enterprise is enhanced,” said Somali PM Hamsa Abdi Barre.
He indicated that at the end of this year, when Somalia’s debt is forgiven, there will be many opportunities that need to be prepared for, to make large-scale economic changes that will lead to the proper development of the country.
The event which was organized by the Hormuud Telecom Company, awarded members of the community who made successful business innovations and contributed to the economy.
