Mogadishu Mayor and UAE Ambassador Discuss Development Projects

MOGADISHU, Somalia – In a significant move towards fostering stronger ties between Somalia and the United Arab Emirates, the Mayor of Mogadishu, Yusuf Hussein Jim’ale Madale, welcomed the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Ahmad Juma Al Rumaithi, at the Banadir Municipality headquarters on Tuesday.

 

The meeting, which was aimed at enhancing the relationship between the two countries, focused on several key areas including bilateral cooperation, the continuation of UAE emergency aid, and the development of projects in Mogadishu.

Mayor Madale expressed his gratitude to the UAE government for its unwavering support for the Somali people and its prompt action in times of need. He particularly praised the UAE for its continued commitment to providing emergency aid to the Somali people, who have been severely impacted by natural calamities.

Ambassador Al Rumaithi, in turn, reiterated the UAE’s commitment to bolstering support to the Somali people, especially during this critical moment. He emphasized the importance of closer relations between the two countries in areas that are mutually beneficial to both sides.

The discussions also touched upon the fight against Al-Shabaab and the development of the security sector in Somalia, highlighting the importance of strengthening relations between the two countries in the fight for progress and development in the Horn of Africa nation.
