Somalia Condemns Israeli Attack on Qatar, Approves New Meat Safety Law

MOGADISHU — The Council of Ministers of the Federal Republic of Somalia has strongly condemned the recent aggressive attack carried out by the Israeli administration against Qatar, particularly targeting the capital city of Doha.

 

The council affirmed Somalia’s solidarity with the government and people of Qatar, describing them as brothers and expressing firm opposition to all violations and aggressions that contravene international laws and agreements.

In a session chaired by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, the council also approved the Meat Inspection and Protection Law.

Proposed by the Ministry of Livestock, Forestry, and Range of Somalia, the new legislation aims to regulate the safety, hygiene, and quality of meat products.

Officials highlighted the law’s significance in safeguarding public health and promoting the livestock sector, reflecting the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance food security and domestic production standards.
