Mogadishu, April 20 — Hirshabelle presidential hopeful Osman Mahmoud Adawe held a key meeting with politicians from the Hirshabelle regions as part of ongoing consultations ahead of a planned announcement of his candidacy, sources said.

The meeting, which took place at his residence, was attended by several prominent figures, including former Middle Shabelle governor Ahmed Meyre Makaraan, former Banadir regional governor Mohamed Osman Ali Dhagaxtuur, and former security minister Abdullahi Mohamed Nur, along with other politicians from the Hirshabelle areas.

According to participants, the gathering formed part of broader consultations Adawe is conducting with different segments of the Hirshabelle community as he prepares to formally declare his bid for the presidency of the regional state.

Adawe, described by supporters as an academic with an understanding of the political and developmental challenges facing Hirshabelle, is also among the founders of the JSP party.

He is expected to focus his platform on improving public services, education and healthcare, as well as strengthening infrastructure, governance, and urban development across Hirshabelle, according to individuals close to the candidate.

The consultations come as political activity intensifies in Hirshabelle ahead of anticipated leadership changes, with multiple figures engaging in outreach efforts to consolidate support.
