DOHA, Qatar — Somalia’s embassy in Doha took part in an Africa Day celebration organized by the African Ambassadors Group in Qatar, joining diplomatic missions from across the continent in an event highlighting Africa’s cultural diversity and heritage.

The gathering brought together representatives from African countries accredited to Qatar, with each embassy showcasing aspects of its national identity, traditions and cultural heritage.

Somalia’s exhibition attracted significant attention from visitors, who were given an opportunity to learn more about the country’s history, culture and rich traditions, embassy officials said.

Hundreds of people, including diplomats, dignitaries and members of the public, attended the event and visited displays representing various African nations.

The Somali embassy said its participation reflected its commitment to promoting Somalia’s image abroad and raising international awareness of Somali culture through cultural and diplomatic engagements.

In a statement, the embassy thanked the organizers of the event and all participants, praising efforts to strengthen solidarity and cooperation among African countries represented in Qatar.

Africa Day is celebrated annually to commemorate the founding of the predecessor to the African Union and to highlight the continent’s unity, cultural heritage and shared aspirations.
