Election talks on the brink to face delay due to Bosaso conflict

MOGADISHU [SMN] – Reliable sources say that there has been a delay in the National Consultative Assembly meeting scheduled on the 27th of this month in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia.

According to reports, the delay came after the President of Puntland requested a postponement due to the conflict in Bossaso, and asked for one week to resolve the crisis.

The delay in the summit also coincides with the emergence of a new rift between the president and the prime minister.

The escalating situation in Mogadishu is exacerbated by the delay in the elections, which are still being contested by the federal government and members of the opposition.
