Fahad Yasin elected as a member of Somali parliament

BELEDWEYNE [SMN] – Fahad Yasin, the national security advisor of president Farmajo won the Hop086 seat in the House of the People of the Somali Parliament with 70 votes.

Yasin’s rival, Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed, received 24 votes during the indirect election in Beledweyne city in central Somalia.

Farmajo’s security adviser and former NISA commander now became a lawmaker.

HirShabelle state began the election of the 25 Lower House seats in the second voting district of Beledweyne after Gudlawe reached a deal with his opposition.
