DHUSAMAREB, Somalia – The President of Somalia’s Galmudug State, Ahmed Abdi Kariye “Qoor Qoor”, has pledged to improve the quality and reach of education across the region, aiming to make Galmudug a national example in the education sector.
Speaking at a large ceremony marking the conclusion of the regional secondary school certificate examinations, Qoor Qoor emphasized his administration’s commitment to educational development.
“I am committed to ensuring that Galmudug becomes the leading example for education in Somalia,” the president said, addressing educators, students, and government officials gathered for the event.
He urged teachers and school administrators across the region to intensify their efforts and promised full support from his administration to all those working to uplift education in Galmudug.
His remarks come as the Galmudug administration continues to push forward with a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening the education system in the region, which has long faced challenges due to instability and limited resources.
Education observers view the president’s statement as a positive step, signaling a broader shift toward prioritizing long-term development through education in one of Somalia’s key federal member states.
