MOGADISHU [SMN] – The new President of Somalia Hassan Sheikh has spoken about the fire that broke out on Thursday night at a market in the Banadir area within the capital.
In a statement released by the presidency, the head of the state has shared the pain with the Somali traders who lost their property in the tragedy.
“I share the pain with the suffering of Somali traders whose property was burnt in last night’s fire at the Banadir intersection in Mogadishu,” he said.
The president also said that the fire disaster is one of the issues that need to be addressed by his new administration in a timely manner.
Massive property damage was caused by the fire in Banadir Market which drew quick statements from Prime Minister Roble, Speaker of Parliament & Opposition politicians.
