Baidoa — The interim leader of Somalia’s Southwest State, Jibriil Abdirashid Haji, held talks with traditional elders aimed at strengthening peace and social cohesion, officials said.
The meeting focused on accelerating reconciliation efforts, with the leader highlighting the key role elders play in maintaining stability and resolving community disputes.
He stressed that the administration was prioritizing peace and coexistence across the region.
Elders who attended the gathering welcomed the initiative and pledged to work closely with the authorities to help ensure lasting stability and development.
The discussions come amid broader efforts by local leaders in the Southwest State to reinforce unity and support reconciliation initiatives in areas affected by insecurity.
