KISMAYO [SMN] – Jubbaland’s Minister of humanitarian and Disaster Management Abdirahman Abdi Ahmed briefed the state Cabinet on the drought situation and the ongoing plans to address the water shortage crisis.
Drought in Jubbaland caused the deaths of 34,000 cattle in Gedo and Lower Jubba regions.
Jubaland calls on all aid agencies locally and internationally to respond quickly and deliver urgent assistance to the people hit by the drought who are at risk of famine.
The Ministry said it is working hard to provide relief to those affected by the drought.
