MOGADISHU – The Minister of Defence of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, met today with the British Ambassador to Somalia, Ambassador Charles King, to discuss cooperation between the two nations in the areas of defence and security.
The meeting also focused on the United Kingdom’s support for the fight to eradicate terrorist groups—namely Al-Shabaab and Daesh—as well as efforts to strengthen security and stability in Somalia.
Minister Ahmed Moallim Fiqi expressed his gratitude to the United Kingdom for its consistent support for the Somali government. He emphasised the importance of further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries to effectively realise the interests and aspirations of both their peoples.
