Mogadishu talks enter third day

MOGADISHU [SMN] – The National Consultative Assembly meeting for the prime minister, regional leaders, and the mayor of Mogadishu has entered its third day in a row.

This sensitive meeting will address the current situation, in particular the controversy surrounding the elections and how to rectify the existing shortcomings.

Reports say that today’s meeting will be joined by civil society organizations, who will also contribute their input to the Somali National Consultative Conference.

Representatives of the international community as well as members of the candidates’ union met yesterday and met with the country’s national consultative council.
