JOWHAR [SMN] – The troops of the 3rd Battalion, 27th Division of the Somali National Army have carried out operations against Al-Shabaab between the towns of Jowhar and Balad in the Middle Shabelle region, especially on the road between the two towns.
Officials leading the operation said they had cleared the road of al-Shabaab members who often carry out attacks there.
The command of the 27th Division also said that they will continue operations against Al-Shabaab in the Middle Shabelle region.
In recent times, security on the long road between Mogadishu and Jowhar has deteriorated.
