MOGADISHU, Somalia – The prime minister of Somalia Hamza Abdi Barre has officially inaugurated the football tournament of Federal State Members and Banadir region in Mogadishu stadium today.
Tens of thousands of football fans flocked to witness the opening game between Hirshabelle and Galmudug States.
Speaking at the opening of the tournament, PM Barre highlighted the vital role of football in fostering peace, harmony, and unity among our people.
“Kicked off the football tournament for Federal State Members & Banadir region at Mogadishu stadium! Amazing fan turnout as we watched Hirshabelle take on Galmudug,” said Barre.
Continuing, the PM said: Football is a powerful force for peace and unity. Big shoutout to our security agencies for making our capital safer.
He praised the remarkable efforts made by government security agencies that contributed to the significant improvement in the capital’s security.
