MOGADISHU [SMN] – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia HE Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo telephoned the President of the Council of the Presidency of Libya HE Dr. Mohamed Yunis Al-Manfi thanked him for his role in repatriating Somali nationals stranded in Libya.
The two Presidents reaffirmed the long-standing ties between the two fraternal peoples and the cooperation between the two governments in the areas of security, regional stability, and the fight against terrorism and migration.
Dr. Mohamed Al-Manfi expressed the respect and admiration of the Libyan people for their Somali brothers and reaffirmed his commitment to the Somali people trapped inside his country.
The Federal Government of Somalia has in recent years made significant efforts to repatriate Somali citizens held in foreign prisons, with many now living in freedom and dignity in their home country.
