BAKU, Azerbaijan — Somalia’s ambassador to Azerbaijan, Abdinuur Dahir Fidow, has attended an event marking the 15th anniversary of the Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA), taking part in a panel discussion on development cooperation and humanitarian assistance.
Fidow highlighted the importance of strengthening ties between Somalia and Azerbaijan, particularly in education, health, technology, agriculture and institutional capacity building.
He also pointed to Somalia’s efforts to rebuild state institutions and expand its economy, stressing the role of bilateral cooperation in supporting the country’s development.
The event also saw Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov present a certificate of recognition to a Somali student enrolled in the Heydar Aliyev Scholarship Programme, in recognition of academic progress and achievements.
