MOGADISHU, Somalia — Somalia’s Information Minister Daud Aweis Jama held talks in Mogadishu with Raisedon Zenenga, the acting deputy special representative of the United Nations secretary-general for Somalia, officials said.
The meeting focused on progress made by Somalia across several sectors, including security, politics, reconciliation, the economy and social services, according to a statement from the Ministry of Information.
Jama thanked the United Nations for what he described as its continued support to Somalia, highlighting the organisation’s role in reconstruction and recovery efforts.
Zenenga praised the federal government’s efforts and reiterated the United Nations’ commitment to supporting development initiatives and state-building activities in the country.
The talks form part of ongoing engagement between Somalia’s federal government and the United Nations aimed at strengthening cooperation on key priorities related to stability and development.
