Somalia invites Kuwaiti companies to invest in the country

MOGADISHU [SMN] – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mohamed Abdirizak met on Wednesday in Kuwait, in the Kuwaiti capital, with CEOs, general directors, and senior officials of investment institutions Kuwaiti development to implement various development and investment projects in Somalia.

The Minister also met in separate meetings with His Excellency Mr. Badr Mohamed Al-Saad, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, His Excellency Mr. Marwan Abdullah Al-Ghanem, Director General of the Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development, and His Excellency Mr. Badr Al-Ajeel The delegate member of the General Authority for Investment by proxy urged them to invest in Somalia and send leading Kuwaiti investment companies to implement the latest development projects in the country.

Somalia is a virgin country rich in fish, minerals, oil, livestock, and fertile lands for agriculture, and is open to foreign investment in all sectors with an active partnership, including industry, water, and real estate.

The Somali federal government is looking to develop cooperative relations with Kuwaiti investment and development institutions to be Somalia’s most important development partners and play a prominent role in supporting Somali development efforts by funding priority government development projects.
