HARGEISA, Somalia – Somaliland administration rejected accusations that it was behind the killing of prominent Somali poet Jama Kediye who died on LasAnod on Wednesday.
The breakaway region’s defence ministry the poet died at the hands of a terrorist group, distancing itself from involvement in the shelling against the northern disputed town.
LasAnod which lies on a flashpoint border area has seen continued mortar bombing since Somaliland troops pulled out of the city early this year and stationed at Gooja’Adde base.
