MOGADISHU [SMN] – Government soldiers have opened fire at a rickshaw in Mogadishu on Thursday night, killing two siblings on the spot, police confirmed.
Zakariye Mohamud and his sister Sowda Mohamud lost their lives to bullets fired at their Tuk-Tuk by soldiers on a pick-up at the busy junction of Dabka.
The shooting sparked public outrage and condemnation against the government for neglecting the safety of the citizens.
Somali PM Mohamed Hussein Roble has slammed the incident and termed it unacceptbel. The government said the killers are in custody and will be arraigned in court soon.
