MOGADISHU, Somalia – The National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) held a two-day training for journalists, youth activists, and women advocates from Mogadishu and the five Federal Member States in Somalia.
NUSOJ has partnered with UNDP’s Somalia mission in the training program on empowering voices, shaping narratives, and fostering dialogue as the media becomes the essential force in driving positive change for women’s rights, peace, and security.
Also, the training focused on promoting women’s political participation, leadership, and protection through mass media mobilization.
NUSOJ said the event is significant because it brings together a diverse group within the framework of the joint program on women, peace, and protection (WPP).
“Together, they are pushing for the full realization of women’s rights, peace and protection. Impactful collaboration for women’s rights,” NUSOJ tweeted.
The power of media knows no bounds when it comes to achieving the Women, Peace, and Security WPS agenda in Somalia, it added.
