Doha, Qatar — Somalia’s Minister of Health and Social Care, Dr. Ali Haji Adam, participated in the international Doha Forum 2025, where he addressed the impact of declining international aid on the country’s healthcare system.
Speaking at a high-level panel, Dr. Adam stressed the need to strengthen domestic financing and expand effective partnerships under the Global South–South Cooperation framework.
He highlighted new opportunities for collaboration, investment, and knowledge sharing to enhance the resilience and development of Somalia’s health services.
Dr. Adam was accompanied by the Ministry’s Director General, Dr. Guled Abdijalil Sheikh Ali, and other senior officials, who attended meetings aimed at reinforcing international cooperation in healthcare.
The minister emphasized that participation in the forum provides Somalia with opportunities to secure additional support, exchange expertise, and mobilize resources to improve access to and quality of health services for Somali communities.
