AFGOYE, Somalia – Following a spike in al-Shabab attacks, General Dayah Abdi Abdulle, the Commander of the Somali Land soldiers, examined Somali army soldiers positioned in the Lower Shabelle region’s Afgoye district on Wednesday.

General Dayah was informed by General Warsame Mohamed Diriye, the commander of the April 12th section, on the security conditions in the district, where the Somali army is in charge of protecting Mogadishu.

Instructing them to get ready for fresh operations in the upcoming weeks, General Dayah urged the commanders and men to keep working toward the nation’s liberation.

The increasing attacks by al-Shabab on the Somali army in the southern region of the country were addressed by General Dayah, who has recently been on the front lines.

When the Islamist organization al-Shabaab assaulted the Busley military base in the Lower Shabelle district last Saturday, at least 17 individuals were murdered and several more were injured.
