Four soldiers dead in clash between rival sides in Somali military

MASJID CALI GADUD – A battle broke out last night night between two sides within the SNA in Masjid Ali Gadud in Middle Shabelle region as Somalia is at war with Al-Shabaab.

 

Bashir Wadani, a senior military officer, told Shabelle Radio that four soldiers, including the commander of division 2 of the Somali army Mohamed Ahmed were killed in the infighting.

The fighting was said to have started after two Somali military forces confronted each other on the road following suspicion of being Al-Shabaab and perceived a threat.

The reports also say that the fight between the army of the federal government continued for almost one hour, and both sides used different types of weapons that could be heard beyond the war zone.

The situation is calm, and the officials of the government forces reached the area on Thursday morning but did not release a statement regarding the infighting.

The area of ​​Masjid Ali Gadud is one of the last areas to be removed from the Al-Shabaab by SNA along with local clan militia supporting the government in the ongoing offensives.
