Puntland prosecutor issues arrest warrant for 4 opposition members

GAROWE [SMN] – The Attorney General of Puntland, Ahmed Yusuf Taraan has issued an arrest warrant for four politicians hailing from the Nugal region.

 

The defendants were accused of being behind the attack on a convoy carrying ballot boxes near Garowe, which caused the deaths of three soldiers and injuries on Monday midnight.

The accused are the former Minister of Finance Hassan Shire Abgaal, the presidential drought envoy Khadar Farole, ex-Minister Mohamud Shiddo, and Mohamed Jama Farah.

The old friends of President Said Deni turned into opposition figures and established an alliance against the May 25 local election in Puntland which could lead to an all-out war.
