MOGADISHU, Somalia – The government of Somalia has set a condition for the mediation of talks with Ethiopia as AU and IGAD are trying to defuse the current brewing tension.
Somalia said it is Grateful for the African Union Peace and Security Council’s affirmation of AU member states’ sovereignty after Ethiopia signed an illegal MOU with the northern region (Somaliland), in violation of Somalia‘s sovereignty.
No room for mediation unless Ethiopia corrects this by retracting the illegal MoU, added FGS in a statement issued by the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday morning.
