MOGADISHU — The Chairman of the Somali National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mahmoud Moallin Abdulle, has launched a financial assistance initiative aimed at supporting 130 low-income orphan families to help cover their essential daily living needs.
The cash aid project is supported by the Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH), a non-governmental organization with a long-standing presence delivering humanitarian assistance and community support across Somalia.
Following the launch, the SoDMA chief inspected IHH facilities and reviewed its broader welfare programs dedicated to vulnerable children and orphans. Abdulle commended the organization’s ongoing commitment to aiding impoverished communities.
Abdulle expressed gratitude to IHH, as well as the government and people of Turkey, for their continuous humanitarian aid to Somalia. He emphasized the critical need for sustained collaboration between state institutions and international relief agencies to ensure aid reaches those most in need.
